UNAIDS brings together the resources of the UNAIDS Secretariat and 10 UN system organizations for coordinated and accountable efforts to unite the world against AIDS.
Results
- More than 80 countries increased their domestic investments in AIDS by more than 50% between 2006 and 2011
- Annual new HIV infections fell 21% between 1997 and 2010
- The number of people dying of AIDS-related causes fell to 1.8 million in 2010
- Antiretroviral coverage rose 20% in sub-Saharan Africa between 2009 and 2010
