Urgent Need for Help in Haiti
Victims of the unfolding catastrophe in Haiti require immediate help as living conditions worsen. Ongoing aid will be needed to help people rebuild their lives. Find out how you can help.
By now, everyone has heard about the disaster that is unfolding in Haiti, and I think the biggest question on people's minds is "how can I help?" With millions of people impacted, many thousands dead, and basic living conditions extremely difficult for survivors, the humanitarian situation is catastrophic and we need to act quickly to respond.
We have started to put the resources of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to work with a number of different organizations, and we continue to look for ways to help right now.
The needs in the immediate term are significant, and in the mid-term there will be a lot of work to do helping people rebuild their lives.
On the foundation site we have posted links to organizations active in the relief efforts, and I would personally encourage you to get involved in whatever way you can.
